Residents and staff at Kenwyn came together yesterday afternoon to celebrate Ange’s birthday with presents and cake.
The celebration was full of warm moments, with Katie helping to make sure Ange enjoyed every part of her special day. One photograph shows Katie holding a chocolate birthday cake with the candles lit, while another captures Ange blowing out her candles with support from Katie and another colleague. A lovely follow-up image shows Ange smiling afterwards, clearly enjoying the occasion.
Ange also spent time opening her presents, with staff by her side sharing in the excitement. The photographs show her unwrapping a soft toy kitten, which she was later seen cuddling, as well as opening more gifts while chatting happily with the team. These personal moments helped make the afternoon feel especially thoughtful and centred around what Ange enjoys.
Celebrating birthdays in this way can be so important in a care home setting, offering not only fun and a sense of occasion, but also opportunities for connection, conversation and meaningful one-to-one time. Small celebrations can have a big impact on wellbeing, helping residents feel valued, remembered and included.
At Kenwyn, Ange’s birthday was marked with kindness, smiles and plenty of care, making for a lovely afternoon shared with the people around her.
