Permanent placements are available as well as shorter respite breaks, this would be ideal for someone who may need some TLC or maybe their family is going away on holiday. Shorter breaks also allow an individual to sample life at Kenwyn prior to making what can be quite a daunting and big decision to move into a care home.
Activities are led by the Wellbeing Coordinator and are a key factor at Kenwyn, there is a varied and interesting schedule of activities and events for the residents. Kenwyn understands that mealtimes are important therefore there is a talented chef who offers a nutritional and tasty menu meeting all different taste buds and nutritional requirements
The Manager – Danny Ruddock
Hi there, I’m Danny – and I’ve been passionate about healthcare for over two decades.
My journey in care spans 21 years, specialising in nursing, residential care, mental health, and dementia support. I hold a Level 5 award in management and leadership, but what really drives me is the fulfilment I get from person-centred care – it’s genuinely what gets me out of bed each morning.
I’ve been part of the Kenwyn family since September 2023, and I’ve loved every moment. Our home sits in an elevated position in Crediton with quite the fascinating history – originally built in 1931 as a maternity hospital, many of our local community were actually born here!
What I love most about my role is the opportunity to make positive changes and ensure both our residents and team have the best possible experience. I meet regularly with community professionals, families, and most importantly, our residents, because as people’s needs change, we adapt our service accordingly.
Kenwyn truly is at the heart of our community. We have strong connections with local GP surgeries, schools, churches, and businesses. We’re widely known for our delicious food (our chefs are amazing!), beautiful gardens, and our approach that moving into care should be an opportunity for growth and fulfilment.
When I’m not at work, you’ll find me cycling around Devon, tending to my garden, enjoying music, or diving into historical documentaries – I’m a bit of a history buff!
Feel free to contact me anytime. Everyone’s welcome to visit and see what we’re all about.
